IKU220 Research Project (10 ECTS)
Course facts
Introduction
The students will collect their own data (qualitative or quantitative) and discuss relevant theory and literature in relation to the program courses IKU201, IKU210 and the teaching at the University of the Western Cape.
Learning outcomes
The objective is for the students to be able to:
- Systematically reflect on own work as a sport volunteer in a developing country.
- Be able to link theory and practice in a satisfactory way.
Learning styles and activities
The student will write an independent project paper based on the curriculum as well as collected data and personal experience from development cooperation/ internship as a field of practice. Teaching will be given about project writing in accordance with the requirements at NIH. The topic and problem statement for the project must be approved in advance by the course coordinator at NIH. The approval is therefore subject to the writing of the final project.Once the approval has been given there is also an onward and periodic supervision of the developing project to ensure that students follow the research standards of NIH.
Assessment
The final project paper is evaluated with grades ranging from A-F.
