• Essay (2000 words), graded A-F (60 per cent of the total grade)
• Weekly individual resume of selected literature, graded A-F (40 per cent of the total grade)
• All resumes must be passed in order to sign up for the essay.

Scandinavian students can write the essay and resumes in Norwegian, Danish or Swedish.

SPM326Volunteerism in sport
  • Essay (2000 words) on a given topic (40%)
  • Individual oral exam, graded A-F  (60%).

Scandinavian students can write the essay and take the oral exam in Scandinavian languages.

SPM355The Management of Sport Marketing

 4 hours written school exam, graded A-F (50 %), individual case studies graded A-F (25 %) and a case report graded A-F (25 %).

SPM375Internship

During the internship the students are required to write a weekly log which summarizes what they have been doing, as well as an evaluation of their experiences. The students have to follow a given structure for these logs. The students will be evaluated by their placement tutor twice: a) halfway through the internship and b) when the internship is completed.

A five-fold scale (excellent, above the mean, mean, below the mean, and poor) will be used to describe the student’s work with regard to the following criteria:

  • Initiative and creativity
  • Accountability
  • Their ability to work independently (their ability to organize themselves and to carry out their tasks as intended), 
  • Leadership abilities
  • Their ability to satisfy the organizations´ customers or members needs
  • Their ability to accept and take advantage of advises to improve their own performance
  • Enthusiasm and self-confidence
  • Their ability to communicate in written and oral form
  • Professional behavior

The students must comply with the rules, regulations and requirements of the organization where they will work on placement After the internship the students will write a semester thesis (6000-7000 word). In this thesis, the students shall analyze their experiences from the internship in light for academic theory in the fields of organization and/or leadership theory. Before they commence writing, the students has to compile a list of relevant literature (450 pages), which the course tutor must approve. The compulsory reading has to be accepted by the academic responsible for the course.

The students are graded A-F, and will be based on:

  • The weekly logs which constitute a portfolio assessment (20 %)
  • Halfway and final evaluation done by the tutor (20 %)
  • Semester thesis (60 %)
EXFLL1Philosophy and Practice

Full participation in scheduled outdoor activities in this course is mandatory. To be considered to have completed the course, students must also attend and participate fully in at least 80% of lectures and other class sessions.

Students must submit an individual written essay of a maximum of 6000 words, exclusive table of content, reference list and attachments. The topic is given by the teaching staff. All sources must be accurately cited and referenced using APA format 5th edition (see www.nih.no). The essay is graded A-F.

All papers submitted via Fronter will be run through Ephorus for plagiarism control.

 

EXFLL2Experiential Learning in 'Natural' Landscapes

Full participation in scheduled outdoor activities in this course is mandatory. To be considered to have completed the course, students must also attend and participate fully in at least 80% of lectures and other class sessions.

Each student must submit a thre-part journal of self-reflection on: their experiences of learning during the exchange programme; experiential learning theory; and literature relevant to the course. In total, the journal should not exceed a maximum of 6000 words, exclusive table of content, reference list and attachments. All sources must be accurately cited and referenced using the APA format 5th edition (cf. www.nih.no). The dates for handing in each part of the journal will be provided at the beginning of the course. The report is graded A-F.

All journals must be submitted in paper and via Fronter and will be run through Ephorus for plagiarism control.

EXFLL3Comparative Research Project

Students must submit a research report (e.g. in the form of an article or presentation) of a maximum of 6000 words, exclusive table of content, reference list and attachments. All sources must be accurately cited and referenced using APA format 5th edition (cf. www.nih.no). The report is graded A-F.

All papers submitted via Fronter will be run through Ephorus for plagiarism control. 

FAH325Physical Activity and Seniors

3-hour written examination. Grading:  A-F.

TCI250Sports Psycology 1 - Motivational and learning in sport and physical activity

Individual written assignments - Pass/fail.  In order to be permitted to do the final exam, students must fulfill the work requirements by passing 2 out of 3 assignments.

All assignments must be submitted via Fronter, and will be run through Ephorus for plagiarism control.

Individual written exam - Graded  4 hours.
